FAQ

We love your work! Can we set up a time to meet in person to talk details?

Of course! Give us a call or send us an email from the contact page. First, we’ll make sure that we have your date available and then schedule a time to meet. My office is in the Normal Heights neighborhood of San Diego and I’m there by appointment. We book many destination weddings so are happy to go over all of the details via phone or email if that’s more convenient.

How many final images will I receive from my wedding day?

This number varies from wedding to wedding. We guarantee a minimum of 100 final edited images per hour of wedding day coverage. So a 7 hour wedding would yield at least 700 images.

Do we get the high resolution images?

Absolutely! We deliver un-watermarked high resolution images for your personal use on a USB flash drive.

How long does it take to receive our images after the wedding?

Wedding images are fully edited and ready to ship within one month of your wedding date. I am proud to say we often have them ready sooner and have never once delivered images later.

Will you be sure to get lots of photos of my guests?

Yes! I totally understand how important your friends and family are to you. I take lots of candids of guests as well as couples and group shots.

What if we end up canceling or rescheduling the wedding?

All payments are non-refundable. After you sign your contract and pay the retainer fee we turn away other inquiries for that date.

What kind of gear do you use and do you bring back-up equipment?

I shoot canon digital gear and yes yes yes! I bring multiples of everything. I, personally bring three cameras, 4 flashes, many lenses, batteries, compact flash cards, etc. A second shooter would bring additional equipment. We are prepared if something were to go down.

What is your general method of taking photographs?

I capture your wedding day as it truly happens. I also put an emphasis on capturing images that reflect how it felt to be at your wedding. This is the photojournalism of the ceremony, detail shots of decor, shots of guests laughing and mingling, and wide shots that show the whole room or property.¬†We set up family photos and some wedding party photos. While we are taking the couples’ photos, I give direction and use my lighting and technical expertise to put you in the right place at the right time but I allow you to be you and enjoy those moments together. I snap away and focus on capturing lots of intimate, funny, touching, real moments – oftentimes moments you never knew I captured. I will take care of making sure these look great. You don’t have to think about it at all.

That sounds great but we’ve never had professional photographs before and we’re nervous. And I don’t think I’m photogenic. What can we do?

MANY people feel this way. It’s super important that you choose a photographer who you feel comfortable being around. My ultimate goal is to help you look amazing in your photos. I make suggestions as we go when I notice people looking stiff or uncomfortable. I throw out ideas to make the posture more natural and relaxed. I talk a lot and we laugh and natural smiles occur. I’d love to think that working with me just feels like hanging out with your friends. But the good friends. You know, the ones who aren’t afraid to fix your hair for you, or tell you that you have some cake up your nose. Engagement photos are always a great practice run, too. And that way by the wedding day we really are old friends.

What is the most common compliment you receive from guests while still at the wedding?

“I’ve been watching you work. You’re doing such a great job. And you’ve been smiling ALL day.”

How many weddings do you photograph? Is this your full-time job?

Wedding photography is my passion, my focus, and full time work. I photograph approximately 40 weddings per year.
