Last summer my friend and colleague Dennis Jones (The Creative Music DJ) who is the President of the San Diego Chapter for the American Disc Jockey Association, asked me to be a presenter at the local meeting he organized. Dennis scheduled me to speak as a wedding photography expert to a group of San Diego DJs about wedding photography and the ways in which photographers and DJs can work together leading up to and during the wedding day for our mutual benefit as well as the benefit of the couple, guests, and other vendors involved in the wedding day.

It was an awesome evening of collaboration and I learned so much from the group as well. I feel like we all left feeling empowered to make changes and become better at our respective crafts.

Shortly after the meeting, I was approached by Mike Ryan, a member of the ADJA who is also a contributor for Mobile Beat Magazine. The magazine thought the concept was worthy of publication. And voila, my face and insight made it across America and overseas.

A big thank you to Dennis, Mike, and Mobile Beat for sharing this educational piece! (my photo credit: Chelsea Anne Photography)
