Melissa, Matt, you make me LOVE my job. I have always looked forward to every interaction with you guys because I always felt like I was meeting up with old friends and your wedding day was no different. (Except I wasn’t drinking.) In all seriousness, thank you so much for including me in your celebration. Your wedding was so dang fun and your friends and family are really quite rad, too. I wish you so much happiness in all of your upcoming adventures. And I very sincerely hope you stay in touch.

Erica + Don | Estancia La Jolla Wedding

Erica and Don held their fabulous wedding ceremony at one of my all-time favorite venues, Estancia La Jolla. I love how Erica and Don saw each other for the first time as Erica came down Estancia’s gorgeous staircase, and then they walked to their ceremony together. Erica, you were simply stunning. And we had a ton of time for portraits which always makes me happy!

I’m so thrilled to have been chosen to photograph your wedding for you. Thank you both for making the day so easy and fun! And a big thanks to Tracy and Ron for tagging along with us and chauffeuring!

Evan + Lynn | The Prado Balboa Park Wedding

Evan and Lynn planned an absolutely gorgeous ceremony at the Prado in Balboa Park. Virtually everyone in attendance was family and I love that Evan and Lynn put such a strong emphasis on spending their day with their loved ones. The ceremony was beautifully officiated by Patricia Coleman and the Prado did an excellent job organizing their intimate dinner party. And their super yummy cake was by my favorites- Sweet Cheeks Baking company.

Evan, Lynn, thank you so much for incorporating me into your plans. To say I felt welcomed is quite an understatement. And I sincerely look forward to our paths crossing again. Soon, I hope.

Zach’s Bar Mitzvah | Congregation Beth Israel + Suzie’s Organic Farm

These days, my wedding business has become so busy that it leaves room for very few other event shoots. But when Staci from Bliss Events contacted me about Zach’s Bar Mitzvah, I squee’d, clapped my hands and did a happy dance in my desk chair! Not only because I love Staci (working with her really is a dream) but because of this awesome event I’m about to show you. Staci painted a perfect picture of it for me – And when I met Zach and his family I was so over the moon happy that they chose me to document this very important event in their lives.

Zach is the most amazing 13 year old. He’s incredibly smart and charismatic and kind. I love that when asked what he wanted for his Bar Mitzvah, the only thing he wanted was a chicken coop (and chickens!). And that he and his family planned this very cool reception that really stayed true to Zach’s personality. The reception was held at Suzie’s Farm which is an active farm but also a really awesome, new, event space in South San Diego county. The staff were amazing. They set up a veggie-stamping station where guests could create custom art, a seed-planting station, and also gave farm tours where guests could pick their own vegetables and eat them right out of the ground, or take some home. Kids swung in the giant tree swing, played soccer in the fields, and hit up the photobooth to add their picture to the family tree. Hot Pstromi set the mood with really fun music, Waters Catering served really delicious food. And Zach himself served up Viva Pops for dessert. (They were a huge hit!) And because Zach has hosted a lemonade stand at the Garden Walk in Mission Hills since he was 6 there was an awesome special-edition lemonade stand.

To the Zollmans – Thank you SO much for allowing me to be a part of this important time in your lives and making me feel so welcomed right off the bat! Zach, your Bar Mitzvah was awesome! Mazel tov!

Kelsey + Joe | The Lodge at Torrey Pines Wedding

Kelsey and Joe and their families planned a truly amazing wedding. The day was full of laughter and surprises. Kelsey and Joe exchanged thoughtful, yet humorous gifts before their first look. Kelsey surprised Joe with a sing-a-long during the ceremony. Kelsey and her mom organized a giant, absolutely incredible golf course cake by Sweet Cheeks Baking company to surprise Kelsey’s father for his birthday. And then there were a ton of awesome personal details everywhere you looked. From sentimental pieces of jewelry on Kelsey’s bouquet, Grandma’s angel subtly watching over the reception from their cake, to a M&M jar just for Joe at his place setting, no small detail was overlooked. And Staci and team Bliss Events did a truly incredible job executing the vision for this wedding which was no small feat!

Kelsey, Joe, you have inspired me to stay true to myself and to find time to laugh more and fill life with surprises. I’m humbled to have been a part of your wedding day. Lynette, Larry, Britt and Nancy, thank you so much for your hospitality. It is very much appreciated!!

Lindsay + Brian | Fallbrook Wedding

Lindsay and Brian had a really fabulous wedding at the end of April at Wedgewood in Fallbrook. The day was filled with special touches: Brian’s father beautifully officiated their ceremony and they included Lindsay’s son Dylan whom Brian has an incredible bond with in a sand ceremony. There was really fabulous food and cake, a photobooth that kept everyone laughing pretty hard, and a beautiful sparkler exit.

Thank you both for making me feel like part of your crew from the very beginning. Your day was perfect and I hope you had a truly amazing time!

Lauren + Todd | Coronado Community Center Wedding

Yay! I was so excited for this day to come and it did not disappoint. Lauren and Todd are honestly the nicest, warmest, friendliest people. The day unfolded perfectly. Which is no surprise since Rachel with Bliss Events was coordinating – LOVE her. We started off with photos at the Hotel Indigo where they were getting ready and then headed over to the Coronado Community Center for their ceremony and reception. Bethel officiated their marriage ceremony. She is absolutely amazing! (She also married Kosta and me). The ceremony was really touching, and funny. I had to wipe away tears while shooting.

Lauren, Todd, thank you again from the very bottom of my heart for inviting me into this role in your wedding. It was so fun to get to experience your life. Your friends and family are so awesome. And of course you guys know that I love you. Thank you again for such great hospitality. And you’d better stay in touch!! xo

Kaitlyn + Keith | Torrey Pines La Jolla Engagement Session

They met in Chemistry class during their junior year of high school. When they told me, I couldn’t help but smile at how perfect that is. Kaitlyn and Keith chose each other to be lab partners on the very first day. And here we are, about to frame a wedding photo alongside their prom photo.

Kaitlyn, I loved you the minute I met you, too! Really. But in a different way, of course. And Keith, I’m keeping you on speed-dial for any chalk-board writing I may need in the future. Thank you guys for picking me to follow you through this part of your life. And allowing me to be my nerdy self while photographing you. It was so FUN.

Dave + Lindsay | Del Mar Powerhouse Reception

Dave and Lindsay had a really beautiful, intimate wedding ceremony in Maui this past March. They had an absolutely fabulous time on their honeymoon and then came home and threw an amazing party for all of their friends and family here in San Diego. I was excited about their at-home-reception before I even met Lindsay and Dave, when one of my favs, Erin Donoghue with Your Event by Erin contacted me to check my availability and fill me in on some of their planning details. Lindsay and Dave held their reception at the Powerhouse right on the beach in Del Mar. Rockola kept everyone dancing and singing along all night – they were SUPER fun. The photo booth by Fotobox was a big hit, the food from Coast Catering was delicious, and I’m pretty sure Lindsay and Dave had the best stocked bar I’ve ever seen. We started out with some photos at their home with their fur baby Misty.

Dave, Lindsay, I was so honored to be asked to photograph your event. You two are so kind, and funny, and FUN – and made me feel right at home amidst your group. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. I can’t wait to get started on creating your beautiful albums!

Amanda + Joe | La Valencia Wedding Photos

Amanda and Joe celebrated their marriage at the gorgeous La Valencia hotel in La Jolla last month. And then they had an epic party. Their friends and family gave absolutely hysterical toasts in their honor, and after a really beautiful and delicious meal, a wild dance party thanks to DJ Bob Brichmann ensued. It was a very awesome day. Anthony Garcia and Patricia Coleman set the tone for their beautiful ceremony. And I got to work with one of my all time favorite planners, Erin Donoghue of Your Event by Erin. She kept everything running perfectly; I’m always excited to get to work alongside her.
