I love to laugh. Hard.
I’m early everywhere I go. I spend a lot of time sitting in my car.
I’m super detail oriented but love unscripted moments.
A good book is like gold to me.
I have to remind myself while doing yoga that being jealous of that girl in my class who can do crazy-amazing yoga moves is not very zen of me.
I feel at home in the hustle and bustle of downtown San Diego but I feel alive when I’m out in the middle of nowhere.
I’m a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan with a competitive streak.
I sing completely off-key. But I still sing.
I’m a perfectionist learning to let go.
I earned a degree in Art and English with concentrations in Photography and Journalism from the University of Delaware in 2004. I waitressed my way through college saving every dime I could for my move to San Diego. I didn’t have a job or a place to live when I adventured to the west coast. But I hustled hard and landed a job working for a busy photography studio in Carlsbad, California. In 2007 Laura Christin Photography was born. I’m proud to say that photography is my full time work. My photographic work has been featured in local and international print and online publications. And I take a great deal of pride in the work I create and in the experiences I offer my clients.
I can’t wait to meet you. I promise not to sing. (Unless the DJ is cranking and no one can hear.)
We aren't photogenic. And have no idea how to pose!
I hear this a lot! You don’t need to do anything but be yourselves and be happy and in love and in the moment. I worry about picking awesome backgrounds and great lighting, and I’ll set you up in those spaces so that you look fabulous while looking natural. I think people get really uncomfortable and stiff looking when they’re forced to stand and pose and hold a smile for a ridiculous amount of time. We move around a lot, and we talk and laugh. I’d like to think that working with me just feels like hanging out with an old friend. (But you know, the good friends who aren’t afraid to fix your hair or tell you that you have cake up your nose). Engagement sessions are always a great warm-up for you, too. That way by the wedding day we really are old friends.
Do you bring backup equipment?
We have a TON of backup measures in place both while we’re shooting and once we’re back at the office. We also bring a lot of backup equipment to your wedding. I’d rather be way over-prepared!
How many wedding images will we receive?
You’ll receive at least 100 edited photos per hour of photography coverage. So 8 hours of coverage will yield at least 800 finished images.
Will we receive the high resolution images?
Absolutely! You will receive high resolution JPG files for your personal use. They’re large files and they do not have a watermark on them. You’re welcome to make prints and share them. You’ll be able to download the images as soon as your gallery goes live.
How quickly will we receive the images?
You will receive previews of your wedding within one week and the entire completed gallery will be ready for you within one month!
How do we reserve you for our wedding day?
As soon as you’re ready to book just let me know you’d like me to reserve your date for you. I’ll send you a contract, you’ll take care of the retainer and we’ll be all set to go. I’ll then get started with your photography plan and keep you in the loop with every step! (I love organization!)
While I work with many destination couples who book via the internet, if you’d like to schedule a phone, video chat, or in-person meeting before booking, shoot me an email and we’ll get it scheduled! I am always thrilled to talk weddings and look forward to connecting with you.
Most of our clients choose to spend between $3,250 and $4,000 on their photography package. More basic options as well as add-ons are available. Please contact the studio for a detailed breakdown of package offers.
If Laura is available for your wedding book her NOW!
Laura is amazing! I could not have asked for a better photographer for our wedding. Our wedding photos are beautiful! She did a spectacular job of capturing all the little details of the wedding; fun photos of the bridal party; and awesome candids of our friends and family throughout our reception. It was so much fun to relive our wedding a second time through Laura’s photos. Laura is organized, professional, and fun to be around. She even got my husband, who HATES pictures, to smile. She delivered the photos shortly after the wedding as promised and provided an awesome website for viewing and download. If Laura is available for your wedding book her NOW!
If you can get Laura Christin, that’s who you want. She’s the best.
Laura came highly recommended, and for good reason. She’s a phenomenally talented photographer and we were so fortunate that she was available to photograph our wedding. She’s very professional, meticulous in gathering all the details she needs to get every shot you want, and she’s an exceptionally nice person. At our wedding, she was flawless–she captured every precious moment and had such a gracious way of getting people together for the various group photos we wanted. Laura helped to make our wedding absolutely perfect, and because of her beautiful photographs, we’ll never forget how magical it was, and how we looked when we first saw each other on that blissful day. I’ll share the recommendation (from Elaine at Sweet Cheeks Bakery) that caused me to call Laura: ‘If you can get Laura Christin, that’s who you want. She’s the best.” How right Elaine was! Thank you, Laura–we couldn’t be happier.
Please do yourself a favor and stop looking, Laura is the best you will ever find!!!
My brother got married a few years ago, at which point he hired Laura to be his wedding photographer. My entire family is incredibly lucky he did! Since then every single one of my family members have used Laura for every event that you can think of. From family portraits to my own wedding a few weeks ago she has become our official family photographer. She is professional, hard working, fun, and at this point a part of the family. You will never find a better photographer, ever. Please do yourself a favor and stop looking, Laura is the best you will ever find!!!
Laura was definitely my favorite vendor
My husband and I could not be more happy with the photos Laura took of our wedding. Laura is a very talented photographer and am blown away with the pictures. I am usually uncomfortable in front of a camera and avoid getting my picture taken. Laura knew how to put me at ease in front of the camera, I don’t even remember her taking a majority of the photos in my wedding album! She really captured the moment in every picture and added her own style that I loved. She used the lighting at the venue to capture some remarkable first dance pictures and also took great candid shots of friends and family throughout the night. My pictures were mailed to me less than 2 weeks after my wedding, normally brides don’t get their pictures for months. Laura was definitely my favorite vendor, she is a pleasure to work with, knows what she is doing and does an excellent job.
