I love to laugh. Hard.
I’m early everywhere I go. I spend a lot of time sitting in my car.
I’m super detail oriented but love unscripted moments.
A good book is like gold to me.
I have to remind myself while doing yoga that being jealous of that girl in my class who can do crazy-amazing yoga moves is not very zen of me.
I feel at home in the hustle and bustle of downtown San Diego but I feel alive when I’m out in the middle of nowhere.
I’m a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan with a competitive streak.
I sing completely off-key. But I still sing.
I’m a perfectionist learning to let go.
I earned a degree in Art and English with concentrations in Photography and Journalism from the University of Delaware in 2004. I waitressed my way through college saving every dime I could for my move to San Diego. I didn’t have a job or a place to live when I adventured to the west coast. But I hustled hard and landed a job working for a busy photography studio in Carlsbad, California. In 2007 Laura Christin Photography was born. I’m proud to say that photography is my full time work. My photographic work has been featured in local and international print and online publications. And I take a great deal of pride in the work I create and in the experiences I offer my clients.
I can’t wait to meet you. I promise not to sing. (Unless the DJ is cranking and no one can hear.)
We aren't photogenic. And have no idea how to pose!
I hear this a lot! You don’t need to do anything but be yourselves and be happy and in love and in the moment. I worry about picking awesome backgrounds and great lighting, and I’ll set you up in those spaces so that you look fabulous while looking natural. I think people get really uncomfortable and stiff looking when they’re forced to stand and pose and hold a smile for a ridiculous amount of time. We move around a lot, and we talk and laugh. I’d like to think that working with me just feels like hanging out with an old friend. (But you know, the good friends who aren’t afraid to fix your hair or tell you that you have cake up your nose). Engagement sessions are always a great warm-up for you, too. That way by the wedding day we really are old friends.
Do you bring backup equipment?
We have a TON of backup measures in place both while we’re shooting and once we’re back at the office. We also bring a lot of backup equipment to your wedding. I’d rather be way over-prepared!
How many wedding images will we receive?
You’ll receive at least 100 edited photos per hour of photography coverage. So 8 hours of coverage will yield at least 800 finished images.
Will we receive the high resolution images?
Absolutely! You will receive high resolution JPG files for your personal use. They’re large files and they do not have a watermark on them. You’re welcome to make prints and share them. You’ll be able to download the images as soon as your gallery goes live.
How quickly will we receive the images?
You will receive previews of your wedding within one week and the entire completed gallery will be ready for you within one month!
How do we reserve you for our wedding day?
As soon as you’re ready to book just let me know you’d like me to reserve your date for you. I’ll send you a contract, you’ll take care of the retainer and we’ll be all set to go. I’ll then get started with your photography plan and keep you in the loop with every step! (I love organization!)
While I work with many destination couples who book via the internet, if you’d like to schedule a phone, video chat, or in-person meeting before booking, shoot me an email and we’ll get it scheduled! I am always thrilled to talk weddings and look forward to connecting with you.
Most of our clients choose to spend between $3,250 and $4,000 on their photography package. More basic options as well as add-ons are available. Please contact the studio for a detailed breakdown of package offers.
